Submerge 2 is the sequel to Submerge, and mostly picks up from where the previous installation left off.
RobertWK’s Review: I appreciate when stories in media pick up from where the first part left off, so Submerge 2 already has that going for it. The mechanics and visuals from the first Submerge world have also been improved, which helps a lot with the immersion and ‘buy in’ from the plot perspective. The first Submerge was pretty hands off in terms of feeling like you’re a part of the world and more inside of a simulation, but Submerge 2 includes interactions with an NPC and external world objects that make it more personal. The story gets pretty intense and there is an increased variety of action as well. Overall Submerge 2 is a good continuation of the story and hopefully there will be more. (Rating: 8)
Katchy’s Review: Submerge 2 does what a sequel should do: it offers the same feeling as the original but expands upon it. You spend less time on the ship than you do in the first one, and the voice acting is all right; the main woman NPC changed sizes a couple times which is a little strange. I think the “production value” of this one is a bit larger. If you’re afraid of the deep sea you probably don’t want to do this one or the original, but for those of us that love cosmic horror, strap in tight! It’s a fun ride. (Rating: 8)
