Subterranean Flood System is a psychological horror escape map reminiscent of movies such as ‘Daylight’ (1996 w/ Sylvester Stallone) and ‘The Poseidon Adventure’ (1972 w/ Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Shelley Winters, and Roddy McDowall.)

  • RobertWK’s Review: If there was ever a world that made you feel small that wasn’t a gimmick, Subterranean Flood System would be it. The interiors of this world are supermassive, in the way that some of the interiors of playing Half-Life 1 are massive for the first time you experience them. I think the world designer made some interesting choices regarding foreshadowing of paths you have to take to escape. I didn’t expect to find myself causing my own predicament, but natural curiosity creates the condition that you must escape from. The only downside to this world is that it is graphically intensive because of the size and the visual effects. If you have a good PC, definitely check out the PCVR version. (Rating: 8)
  • Katchy’s Review: I always wanted to see a world like this, where you have to escape a flooding area, and I’m glad someone did it. Sadly, it didn’t run very well for me. I kept getting stuck and unable to get out of the water, and my frames dropped to about 15-20 here which made it pretty unbearable to run through, and I have a pretty decent machine too. Still worth checking out. I’d love to see more like this in the future, perhaps with some puzzles or something. (Rating: 7.5)
