The Hotel is another entry in the horror loop genre that stands alone from other imitators.
The void left behind by the PT ‘Silent Hills’ Demo has been a difficult one to fill by fans of the genre. PT took the concept of a ‘horror loop’ and made it something that people fell in love with, from it’s attachments to Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro, and Norman Reedus (star of The Walking Dead) to the concept, story, and execution.
Thankfully, The Hotel is a world that aims to please fans of the genre. There are many “PT Clones” out there that try to replicate the experience as faithfully as possible, but thankfully The Hotel is something unique and different. Some of the puzzles involved are a little bit challenging and less than obvious, but it does provide a satisfying entry in the horror loop genre. A bonus feature is that if someone gets disconnected, they can rejoin players at the present point so progress is not lost.
This is one people should definitely experience and bring some friends with.

The Hotel was a fun romp through a haunted hotel that seemed to have been largely inspired by PT. As you explore you continuously re-enter the same or similar areas but with subtle changes. There are a few puzzle elements, and one of them had us scratching our heads for quite a while. Once we figured it out, it was obvious.
It’s pretty great, though there are some issues with getting things to work properly and everything is just SO DARK. I wish world creators would start giving us more light in these types of worlds. I get it: dark is scary but the scarier thing is not being able to tell what you’re doing. Overall, The Hotel is a dish best shared with friends.
