The Unicorn Glade is a horror experience that is reminiscent of PS1 style graphics. It is likely inspired by ‘Duck Season’, Stress Level Zero’s first VR title.

  • RobertWK’s Review:

I actually really liked this world, once you get beyond the potential of a soft-lock bug that prevents you from continuing in the beginning (this is claimed to be fixed.) The PS1 style graphics aren’t too wiggly (as they have been in other worlds) and the overall aesthetics are pretty good. This is another world where the horror involves the player from a personal perspective. There is a bit of technological nostalgia in the beginning that I enjoyed seeing and interacting with, so it would be great to see that show up in other worlds down the line.

A quick heads up: this world features a few intense shaders.

  • Katchy’s Review: The Unicorn Glade was pretty much what I expected, but that’s not a bad thing at all! The house in the beginning is really well done in a pixel art style and the story is interesting. Without going into spoiler territory, the rest of the world nails the vibe of being cute and fun with something mysterious lurking behind it all. I think the slow walks to each place could have been a bit more visually interesting but it’s not a huge con, and I was hoping it would be a bit longer but seeing as how it’s a jam title, I wouldn’t count that against it. Can we get a more fleshed out sequel? I’d love that. (Rating: 8)
  • Ondanya’s Review: Not sure how I fully feel about this one as it broke the first time I tried to do it (loading a new instance fixed it.) It was cute and unsettling at the same time. The running around was kind of annoying as there was no way to get back quickly and I kept falling into the water in one spot. Overall it was pretty good. (Rating: 7)
