Niko’s Solar System is a ratio-accurate model of the system that you may live in inside of VRChat. It has both planets and moons to explore in the model, as well as simulations of historical events that occured in the past.
RobertWK’s Review: This is an excellent use of VRChat as an educational medium. I have always loved planetariums and shows about space in museums growing up. Being able to see (and to a degree interact with) a ratio-accurate perspective of The Copernican System in VRChat is an opportunity to appreciate the limit of space where our system resides. The world features recreations of some planetary events as well as textures and hypothetical models of what the surfaces and cores of the planets may look like, and has photographic representations of a few of the landscapes. The only downside to this world is it gives you a hypothetical idea of how cursed the inside of planets and the Sun is. (Rating: 8)
Katchy’s Review: It’s always great to see space education games in VR, as I think it’s the perfect medium to explore the subject. Niko’s Solar System does a great job of showing the different celestial bodies in our solar system, and it doesn’t just have the planets but moons and dwarf planets as well. I love the addition of being able to stand on Venus that’s based on the original footage we have of it; it’s quite eerie but very cool. Being able to “hear” the planets as well is a nice touch, though they are very spooky and make the hairs stand on the back of my neck. (Rating: 8)
