An exhibit for creating and showcasing pixel art created in real time by VRChat users.

RobertWK’s Review:

Pixel Art is a complex art form in which an image is reduced down to its interpretive elements and rendered using a limited color palette and pixel density. Art created this way can be made using basic lines and shapes, or it can be shaded.

Pixel Art Online 2 (and it’s previous word Pixel Art Online) are VRChat worlds where users can create pixel art creations in real time, which are then saved to an external location for preservation. The gallery of creations is updated also in real time so all art created for users in instances is synchronized.

The feature set implemented is just enough to make things fun for everyone to express themselves. The only downside is that users cannot see the art that other people are creating until after the upload. Overall this world is minimalist and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Katchy’s Review: What a cool concept: draw some pixel art and have it add to an ever-expanding gallery of other people’s art! I like it! Maybe if there is going to be a Pixel Art Online 3, it could handle some larger art pieces or have a more visually interesting space. (Rating: 8.5)
