VR ThemePark

VRChat theme park worlds are a mixed bag. Sometimes they don’t have a lot of rides, or the rides are buggy and easily induce motion sickness. With others they haven’t been updated and don’t work despite VRChat’s Legacy updates for SDK 2.0 worlds.

Fortunately VR Themepark is one of those worlds where there are a fair amount of rides and they still work well enough to be able to enjoy them. This theme park has an open-air carnival style layout where the rides aren’t cordoned off into discrete zones. The backboards behind many of the rides have that cheezy low-cost travelling fair theme that also is consistent with the types of rides available. The songs played during the rides collectively seem like a tribute to 1990s/2000s pop techno dance hits, and in true fly-by-night portable carnival fashion, the music ends abruptly as soon as the ride is over.

This park relies on derivatives of classic amusements, such as The Scrambler and the Teacups. None of the rides are terribly innovative, but that doesn’t make them less fun. We gave every ride a chance, and after each one we went on to the next. Nothing in this park made us want to quit.

It’s pretty rare for big VRChat projects like theme parks to get updated frequently, and so it is a treat that this one still works well enough to enjoy. If this is the experience you’re looking for, then definitely visit this one.
