The Cube Observation is a medium-length storied escape room that features functional lore as a part of the game.

  • RobertWK’s Review:

It is rare that a puzzle/escape room world features functional lore, but The Cube Observation does a great job of immersing/personally involving you into the story because of it. With a lot of those worlds you use the mechanics in order to find the solution(s) regardless of the story, but for this high-quality world that was put together in a short amount of time, that’s an integral part of getting through to the end.

I loved that the design of the world took some inspiration from The Cube by no other than puppeteer and creative Jim Henson which he produced and directed for NBC in 1969. This original short also inspired other cube-centric themed media, particularly Cube from 1997, and the VRChat world CUBES.

If you are into meta and lore-based puzzles, definitely bring a group to this world!

  • Katchy’s Review: The Cube Observation took me off guard in a good way. There’s really only one “puzzle” here to figure out, but it’s a doozy. I got some real SCP vibes here and the mechanic it uses for the puzzle is extremely off the wall. No spoilers here, just check it out for yourself. It’s better with a group! (Rating: 8.5)
